Conference Privacy Notice
FINRA is committed to protecting your privacy and to conducting business with the highest ethical standards and appropriate internal controls. By registering and participating (both virtual and in-person) in this FINRA conference (“Conference”), you voluntarily consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this privacy notice. The privacy notice incorporates by reference the Privacy Policy for our website. This privacy notice does not apply to any third party services, websites, or applications made available during the Conference or accessible through FINRA websites, software applications made available by FINRA for use on or through computers, mobile devices or other online devices, other digital services, or platforms (each a “Site” or collectively, our “Sites”). Third party services, websites, and applications are governed by their respective privacy policies. FINRA does not accept any responsibility or liability related to their use.
Collection of Information
“Personal Information” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable person. We collect Personal Information directly when you provide it to us when you register for any FINRA Conference, visit or use a FINRA Site, or otherwise communicate with us. The types of information we collect include your first and last name, email address, username and other contact or identifying information during your conference registration and participation and, financial information. We may also collect publicly available information and technical information, including but not limited to, our Internet Protocol (IP) address, your browser type, and settings. We allow third party services to collect standard internet log information and other visitor details. This information is collected solely for analytics use and is only processed in a way which does not identify you.
Use of Information
We use information about you to administer the Conference, including to process your registration, to process payment, manage your flights and/or accommodation, to communicate with you (including announcements about the event and platform or application notifications), and to provide technical or other Conference-related support.
Sharing Information with Third Parties
We will share your name, title, entity, and contact information with other Conference participants, including attendees, speakers, exhibitors, and sponsors, unless you opt out of sharing this information. We may share Personal Information you provide to us when you register, including your first name and last name, email address, entity name, and entity physical address, with third parties who support FINRA in administering the Conference. These third parties will not use your Personal Information for any purposes other as required or permitted by FINRA or law. We may share your Personal Information when we believe that the disclosure is required by law or regulation, including to comply with a judicial order served on us or when we receive a request from law enforcement authorities. We will never share your Personal Information with third parties for a commercial purpose.
Retention of Information
We will not retain your Personal Information for longer than necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice and as required by our regulatory record-keeping obligations.
Information Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, appropriate to the level of sensitivity of the data, designed to protect the Personal Information you provide to us.
Recording Prohibited
We will not record you without your consent. Conference participants are expressly prohibited from using personal or corporate-issued devices to record, screenshot, photograph or copy meetings, events, chat exchanges, or any content presented by FINRA or other Conference participants.
International Users
If you are registering for the Conference from outside the United States, please be aware that you are sending information (including Personal information) to the United States. The courts, law enforcement or public authorities in the United States may be able to obtain disclosure of the data through the laws of the United States. By registering and participating in any FINRA Conference or using a FINRA Site, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States, which may not offer an equivalent level of protection to that required in your country of residence, and to the processing of that information on servers located in the United States as described in this privacy notice.
Changes to this Notice
We reserve the right to modify or update this notice or other terms and conditions of registration and participation in any FINRA Conference or use of a FINRA Site at any time by updating the relevant link. Any modifications or updates shall be effective upon posting to the FINRA website(s). This notice is in effect as of May 2021.
